A Singular Creative Vision

Fitigogo Gallery was founded on a simple premise: that true visual impact comes from focusing deeply on a singular artistic voice.

Located along historic Central Avenue in Downtown Albuquerque and online, Fitigogo showcases the original fine art and collages of James Rawley. Rather than operating as a multi-artist venue, Fitigogo provides a rare opportunity to step directly inside the creative universe of a self-taught artist driven not by academic rulebooks, but by raw compulsion, historical memory, and instinct.

In the Artist's Words

"Well, I've been asked to tell you about me. I was born in 1952, and grew up in the time of Space Exploration and the JFK assassination, Vietnam, and Nixon, The Beatles and the flower children. For 49 years, I've earned my living as a lawyer, and making my art as a compulsion. Yes, I was in the Peace Corps, in Micronesia, and frequently paint palm tree scenes, fish, etc. My collages tend toward America 1963 to 1969.

OK, I have no art education at school. I've been to museums, read books, but really just do what I am interested in. Let's start with Blues and Yellow. Maybe it's genetic, grandad was a sculptor.
